ARTISTIC / CURATORIAL CONCEPT OF MY ART

Jeeva Samanera is an artist, philosopher, creator exploring ideas of consciousness, spirituality, human identity, symbolism and transformation through visual art.

I am using charcoal as a medium and a metaphor in order to explore the fragile space between human vulnerability and transformation, between light and its shadow, between presence and disappearance, between positive and negative space.

The monochromatic language of charcoal allows me to strip away distractions and reveal essential emotional and psychological multidimensional landscapes, investigating the emotional and symbolic dimensions of human consciousness and spirituality.

In my recent works, this inquiry has evolved into a more focused examination of traces. As an artist and curator, I am interested in encounters that invite contemplation rather than certainty.

My practice seeks to transcend fleeting spiritual experiences into lasting essence of humanity through structural visual experiences of sequential philosophical insights, contrast of sequential patterns and tonal depth, encouraging viewers to reflect on their own stories of loss, resilience, belonging and renewal through portraiture, symbolism, atmospheric imagery with kairolume — a moment when purpose and clarity converge.

Introduction

REFLECTRE is an ongoing exploration of consciousness, perception and the relationship between the inner and outer worlds. Through charcoal, portraiture, symbolism and atmospheric imagery, the series investigates memory, vulnerability, transformation and spiritual experience.

Each work exists as a fragment of a larger philosophical landscape. Rather than offering definitive answers, REFLECTRE creates spaces for contemplation — inviting the viewer to encounter their own memories, emotions and perceptions within the work.

REFLECTRE — The Space

The Space

What happens out there, happens somewhere prior in a consciousness. The Space is a reflective field of awareness which reflects the human consciousness. Renaissance of it's holographic existence is indeed not a distant concept but an unfinished expression. The Space is a reflective field not in the sense of holographic in existence but in meaning. This idea of understanding the Universe, a projection of soulful consciousness is totally a new dimension of looking at the universe. It proposes that the universe is a construct of pure awareness of consciousness which leads to it's physical and non physical existence at the same time. However, the physical construct of the Space is merely a projection of awareness of consciousness. The active participants of the creation of Universe is somehow you yourself and your consciousness which triggers and captures the awareness through psychological process in Life. The universe's physical existence (appearance) is just a projection of the consciousness. Perhaps that's the reason behind it's phisycal expansion as human consciousness is also expanding.
